It's no new news that a majority of people in our shameless generation commit their time to the shallow, surface-based, images and one-liners shared for public consumption on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat. Psychology suggests that this has negative effects on growth, development, and self-esteem and I agree. I've never been interested in posting my life online for public consumption because I can sense the exhaustion and drama it can cause plus it just feels like an utter waste of my time. When I am living in a moment, I don't want it to be diluted so that I can pause and share it with an interconnected group of curious aquaintences who don't really care and would make no effort to find out about my life without places like Instagram. I am also aware that these websites are used as a tool for sneaky, shady people to excute negative agendas. More specifically, homewreckers. Many females will lurk on their crush's girlfriend or their ex's girlfriend's profile, obsessing over her posts, trying to maginfy flaws, discrepensies, or cater their behavior to please him. I find this to be highly toxic and very creepy. Not interested in exposing myself to that mess AT ALL.

Personally, my life has been more positive, enriching, and less distracting without these websites being apart of it. How about you? How do you feel social networking has impacted your interpersonal relationships? What is yor overall view on this topcic?
