Search Results: what to say at a job interview

Okay. I'm 18 and I've never worked. I got shitty grades in high school because I didn't really care about it. I am not going to college this fall because I don't know what I want to do and don't feel like having my parents waste money on college (it's very expensive). I plan on getting a job. My mom has been up my ass about getting a job since the end of July. I applied to 4 places (Target, local grocery store, spirit Halloween and petsmart). Petsmart wants people with job expierence. The bitch from spirit Halloween never called me back, the lady from target never emailed me back to set up an interview and I never returned the calls from the local grocery store (I didn't know it was their number, I had to google it) and they sent an email saying that the position was no longer being offered to me. My mom is pissed that I never answered the phone for the grocery store. (I hate talking on the phone). I want easy jobs. I don't want to work anywhere fast paced. I am pretty lazy and don't do anything around the house because I don't really want too or if I do it, I do it halfassed. My mom yells at me all the time for it. My mom says I have until August 30th to be hired somewhere and start working or she's kicking me out. She says it's plenty of time, I would've had a whole month. She works and is going back to school this fall to be an RN. She's like there's no reason in the world why I can't have a job and why she should be expected to pay for everything and go to school. She says she doesn't even care if I work part time, I just need to have a job. I have an audition for American idol on September 3rd and my friends parents are driving us down there. I feel like I need the entire month to practice and I don't have time to look for a job and I can look for one if I don't get on Idol. My mom won't allow that to happen. She says I can't just rely on getting on Idol and that solving everything. I need a job before then.

I had a guy in for an interview from another department within my company. The interview went fine, probably was going to hire the guy, but I was gonna follow up with a few people I know to verify some things so, I didn't turn in a recommendation immediately. Turns out, that the guy sent in a complaint after the interview that people on my team drink during work because he saw the beer refrigerator in our area that is clearly labeled "beer refrigerator". Note that he didn't say anything to me about it he just turned in a complaint, based on religious and personal grounds and made it clear that he expected that to not happen while he's around. I found this out later in the day.

So now, i've decided I'm not going to hire the guy. I don't mind that he doesn't drink, I don't drink myself. However, I have a real problem with the underlying behavior here. Got a problem... don't be all skeevy and run behind people's back to try to force what you want. Second, don't be a jackass and not give consideration to what other potential team members want as well.

Now, I can't very well put down that I'm not hiring him because he complained cuz I'm not supposed to know that... but I CAN run him through the interview loop from hell. So I'm sending him to all the people that find every reason not to hire anyone. The guys done and will never work on this team.
