Around Labor Day week, that Friday I met up with someone for dinner. We spoke over Snapchat for around 2 weeks before meeting up. He was somewhat socially awkward during the time we hung out. He invited me over to his house to play video games but I declined because we are still strangers. So he suggested other plans and I said another time because I was tired and everything else was far away. He sent a text after the meet up to apologize for his social awkwardness. And he would send random videos through Snapchat, not sure if it was a group message or not. Anyway, he messages me over a week later from the meet up, hoping that I have a good Monday. I replied thanks you too and he says thanks. That’s all he said. He still views my snap stories but I figured he would have initiated more conversation. It’s almost a month later, I guess it’d be awkward and I should let it go.

So I began speaking to someone from an app around a month ago. We never initiated meeting until now because he was moving from NY to FL and he’s now situated in FL. There was a time when I removed him from my friends list and he added me back. He continues to message me even though I show I’m not completely interested. It’s like he doesn’t pick up on cues. He asked to meet up last week and I had to reschedule. I didn’t message back for a few days and his friend adds me to a PS4 network party. Then apologizes after the party because he and his friend were chuckling during the party. For those that don’t know what a PS party is, there is a conversation initiated over the headset between gamers while playing. He apologized for it being awkward and they weren’t laughing directly at me. If it were me, I’d give up and stop talking to that person. But some people are socially inept.

Kare is a beautiful 14 year old girl who is popluar and well known by her peers. Her older brother Kai is 26, deaf, and socially awkward. Kai and Kara are very close. They sleep in the same bed, share a notebook together and are always playing scrabble. Kara is annoyed at how Kai always wants to hang out and doesn't give her any personal space unless he wants to be alone. Kai gets angry if she doesn't want to hang out and stole her movie tickets because she wouldn't let him go to the movies with her and her friends. One day she wanted to go out with friends on a day where her and Kai made plans so she made Kai a meal with milk in it. Kai is lactose intolerance so drinking milk is like a laxative to him. When he went shopping, the milk ran through his system. Kai went home with tears in his eyes because he was so embarrassed about everything and he eventually found out Kara left to go see her friends instead of hanging out with him.

So around Labor Day week (9/2), I went out for pizza with someone. He texted me after the date to say that he’s sorry for coming across as socially awkward and he hopes I had fun.

Then earlier this week he texts me hoping that I’m having a good Monday. I have him on Snapchat and he views my stories but that’s what they’re here for lol. I’ve been on dates in the past where there was no communication after the date. I don’t think his spontaneous follow up was any better lol
