My boyfriend broke up with me at the beginning of October. We've spoken only once since our break up, but I believe this is because he's very busy with work and school and because we're also in the awkward break up stage right now. I still see him at school and my school has a Christmas at the beginning of December.

The break up has been hard on me, but every day I am getting stronger and feeling better. I still miss my boyfriend and part of me wants to ask him to the Christmas dance, even if we just go as friends. Table reservations are usually due in the middle of November, so I'd have about half a month to ask him.

Should I ask him to the dance for the heck of it? Should I just walk away and go single? Vote in the poll and sound off in the comments below if you have any creative ideas on how I should ask him or if you've been in a situation similar to mine.

To be honest, I do not know exactly what he'll say if I ask him. Part of me feels like he'll say no, however I feel like maybe if I initiate it, he might consider. I was his date last year and it was the first time he had gone to a dance in years, so I shouldn't have to worry about him deciding to go with someone else.
