So me and my ex boyfriend broke up 4 months ago
We still stay in touch every week
And we also hang out every week
But I've been seeing this other guy (hes a mechanic/workshop manager) but my ex doesn't know
So today we went for dinner and went to watch a movie together
And then he drive me back home
This was our conversation in the car:
Me - random question, do you think mechanics earn decent money?
Ex boyfriend - that was random, are u seeing a mechanic guy?
Me - no im just asking
Ex boyfriend - nah there's a reason why u asking. Are u seeing a mechanic guy? Or ur planning to date a mechanic guy?
Me - nah just asking coz my brother is studying for it (*this is a lie*)
Ex boyfriend - nah i think you're lying, its obvious, you're seeing this mechanic guy, tell me, i dont care
Me - just dont worry about it
Ex boyfriend - nah tell me.
Me - im not seeing any guy
Ex boyfriend - so ur brother is studying for this? Im gonna ask him when I see him
Me - really?
Ex boyfriend - yep
Me - ok
And then we changed topic
Then 10 mins later:
Ex boyfriend - so you're going out with a mechanic guy huh, i still dont believe that you're talking about your brother, i think you're seeing a guy
Me - whatever u wanna think
Ex boyfriend - i would know if you're dating a guy, coz if i ask u to go somewhere and you say no, i would know that you're seeing someone
Whats his problem?
Does it seem like he cares or he doesn't actually care that im seeing a guy?

We dated 8 years ago. We never had sex. Our relationship lasted only a month because he went back to his ex girlfriend. It was a bad break up since he did not even dump me. He just went MIA. After we broke up, he went down the wrong path and got arrested. He was obviously hanging around bad people. He was just a bad person. All of our mutual friends don’t like him. He and his ex also broke up not long after.

Fast forward today (8 years later), he all of sudden followed me on Instagram and messaged me. We are both single and have the same type of dog. We also share a lot similarities. We exchanged numbers started texting. He claims that he makes good money as a mortgage broker and wants to be a boss one day. He also claims that he has changed a lot and called his old self stupid. Honestly, he sometimes sounds “conceited” and somewhat rude which pisses me off. For example, I told him I found out Dominican men really likes me... he responded “No, I think they just like everyone”. I cooked dinner, took pictures of the food I made, and sent it to him. His response was, “It looks okay, I cook better and my friends always compliment my cooking... i make the best pasta dishes!!!” He also seems to underestimate what I do and a bit judgmental. Honestly, it’s a super turn off the way he talks.

He asked me out to dinner on Friday and going out with his friends for drinks later. I’m thinking to bail. My best friend suggested me to just go and see what happens. I’m not even sure if he is interested or just wanna be friends. Also, my sister saw him on a dating app (maybe he is desperate).

Should I just bail? And forget about him?
