Search Results: forgive someone for cheating

This is a hard question as personal opinion dictates how or what a person does to treat you badly in your opinion.
Also when our expectations and values of what we think are good and the right way to treat people don't always meet other peoples.
But just think of this as your personal ideals.

Please explain your answers... being cheated on and lied to would be a lot different from someone being late to meet you and all manner of things are much different to different people.

As an example... For me someone I'm close to being rude or nasty to me is them treating me badley. I don't do the same to them and never give reason to be that way to me.
Also my boyfriend recently has cancelled on me last minute and not made much effort to see me. I also consider this me being treated badley. Although I'm aware that he may not consider it this way... that is a whole other story.

Couple 1:
Woman gets cheated on by her bf or husband. Though she's obviously devastated and experiencing every negative feeling (depression, anger, thinking she's not good enough, wondering why it happened) and trust has been lost, she decides to work it out.

Couple 2:
It's the man that gets cheated on but just like that woman, he decides to work it out.

So given that both of these genders took their partners back for cheating, wanting to work it out and forgive but are so hurt, who would you say it's hurting slightly more during the recounseling process?
