Two months ago, I wrote a note and told a guy what i thought of him and how much I liked him (I'm just too damn shy!). His response seemed positive when he read the note, he gave me like four hugs and a kiss on the forehead and said he'd call and maybe go out for dinner. Well he never called...

In coincidence we bumped into eachother on Monday again and we had a brief conversation "to see how we were doing", but he never mentioned anything about the note or dinner... he was nice though. For some reason when we said our goodbye, i went for a distant handshake but then he wrapped my hand with his hands longer than the usual and got too close and said "I'll see you". I thought that was odd and confusing, I just don't know if I should insist or let him go? Any suggestions please! Thank you! 

I've known this guy for like 5 years. Recently we have been getting closer and he's acting weirder as time goes on.
We would hang out in group situations with mutual friends. Then we found out we both love the same tv show. We would talk about it frequently, but this season he really turned up how much we talk.
I get daily texts with new theories, memes or just ideas of what might happen. (Which has slowed to about every three days since the season ended two weeks ago). Plus we were been getting together weekly to watch it (which is new). Plus he was having me tag along to his best friends house to rewatch/discuss with his friends, but not inviting our mutual friends along.
Since he's been wanting to hang out more, he's been acting odd. When we are around mutual friends he sits next to me, touches me (hand on the shoulder or knee when talking), and is super outgoing and flirty. But, if we are alone, he keeps a large distance from me and looks offended if i so much as tap him on the shoulder. Then if we are around his friends/family he gets really excited when we make plans, but he all but ignores me around them. He will sit next to me, but try to leave as much room as possible between us.
He also used to be all nice when we would tell me bye, and now he basically runs away/shuts the door in my face. Plus the last time we hung out, he got this super intense look when we parted, then ignored all my texts for three days and started an argument when he did get back to me.
I try to act as flirty and interested as possible since I am super into him, but I can't read him. Plus I leave things wide open for him to make a move and he doesn't. I can't tell if it's hopeless, or if he's shy, or I'm friendzoned?
