Search Results: why you should ask out a shy guy

One of my guy friends is very, very sweet, but also extremely shy. I've known him through out middle school and into high school, where we both are right now. During that time, we've hung out, went to dances together, corrected each others papers, etc. We've both told each other about our lives, how we feel and other personal stuff. (For example, I've told him about my eating disorder past, and he's told me about his depression) We've kept in contact with one another when we weren't together, like when I've lived with my dad for half a year or when either of us go on trips away. We've help hands a couple times, and he always compliments me on my body. Recently I told him I'm planning on studying abroad to Australia and he told me he doesn't want me to go. I've introduced him to my mother and a couple friends, and I've met his family as well. Many people tell me he's interested in me, but I've never heard that from friends. I'm starting to think he just likes me as a friend and should move on, as a lot of guys have been asking me out. To be honest I like him too, and would ask him out but I wouldn't want to have be the one to do everything if we have a relationship. What should I do? Does this guy even like me? Should I move on or ask him out? Am I pushing him too hard?
