so, this is weird. My best guy friend is best friends with one of my exes, so our friendship started when I was dating that guy, and has continued until now (me and said ex have been broken up over a year and a half). My friend and I have bonded super well, he went through a painful breakup over the summer and we both relate to each other’s pain. Over the last few months, I’ve been speculating whether or not he’s had feelings for me and vice versa but I’m unsure. A few months ago, I made a joke about wanting a boyfriend who played the guitar, and he’d replied “oh, so not me then,” and we went on with our day.
Then recently he’d stayed at my place, and before going to bed he gave me a hug and wished me “sweet dreams”. I thought this was odd because usually guys only say that to girls when they like them (in my experience)
and he drove across the state for less than one day just to show up to my birthday dinner 2 weekends ago.
ever since then, he’s been a little distant. When I ask him what’s bothering him he says mostly school, and leaves if ar that. Hardly replies to my texts. I’m confused. Is he pulling away because he likes me?

My boyfriend's in special ops and always goes on these missions. This one has been the longest since we started dating - 4 months. I know that all these thoughts and doubts filling my head might all go away when he comes home in April. But these past few weeks I've just felt so disconnected. It's not the first mission since we started dating, so I don't know why I'm feeling like this all of a sudden. I mean, sure, I always miss him, but I've never had these negative thoughts all those other times he was gone. It could be because he apparently told my dad about going to business school at oxford or stanford or one of those other rich people schools in a year or so, but he hasn't talked to me about it yet. All he talks about with me is getting married after I graduate college. But I know that's not the only thing bothering me. It's also him going away all the time and always having to pick up where we leave off instead of just continuously going out - in person. On top of all that, I've become infatuated with someone I see every week, ever since I had this bicycle accident last week and he was really caring and protective. I can't stop thinking about this guy... My best friend says if I'm going to break up with my boyfriend it's better to do it over email if I have to, rather than wait till he comes back in April. But he just sent me a valentines gift, and then emailed me these sweet words, and... it just feels like bad timing. But if I don't break it off I feel like I'm going to cheat on him with this other guy. I already can't stop thinking about kissing him the next time we're alone... My boyfriend is a good guy. I know that all girls are going to say is that I'm a slut and should break up with him now, so I'm not even going to bother asking them. I need guys' opinions on this.
