I am a 17 year old guy (lied about my age here), turning 18 in a couple of months (I'm still in high school right now) and I have a mother who's overprotective of me. She's overprotective to the point where she scares off my female friends with her aggresive/mother bear attitude because she thinks they're a bad influence on me (along with some boys who act and dress like thugs) and that they'll try to hit on me. My mother is a Marine (military service) member who just recently got finished with her last deployment and got honorably discharged and was being so happy to see me again (as any mother would).

Since she came back, he's been telling me how I was once an innocent little boy until I'm growing up and hanging around with the wrong boys and girls. I wanted to deny what she said about me because I feel like I'm emasculated if I can't be indepenent like a man and not have a mother to constantly look out for him too much. Even my siblings, aunts and uncles agree with what my mom said about me being influenced by a bad crowd.

Should I feel shamed for this or do you think I should appreciate my mom for looking after the girls I date and the boys I hang around with?

periods are gross. people say it's "just blood" but that is exactly it. it is blood. that smells. and has uterous lining in it. i'm not saying it should be taboo but it's not someting to be too relaxed about in my opinion. i get the idea that some men just say periods aren't gross because they want to seem politically correct. being politically correct is all well and good, in moderation of course. it's when you put on this act that you are the most accepting and non-offensive person in the world that it just takes the piss. personally, i find any bodily fluid/discharge that isn't mine to be disgusting (even if it is mine) so i call bullshit on people who says it's not gross.
i don't think i'm wording my opinion that well but i cba changing it or adding more so i'll just leave this here.

This FB post is whining about how shitty wait staffs salaries are and whine about not being tipped good enough and attack the customers. I can understand that wait staffs struggle a lot with their personal lives but they should never take their own problems on on the customers by shoving their little whining and stories down their throats. Everyone has a fair share of their own personal problems that we should only keep to ourselves.

If anything, they should attack their bosses and all of the greedy American restaurant industries for the shitty pay. American military service members probably get paid shittier than wait staffs yet they do MUCH MORE rigorous work than them and you never hear our veterans bitch to non-military members about not being paid good enough after being discharged. Are Americans really this self-entitled to more money?
