So I'm French. I was born in a French region, my mother tongue is French. And for my entire life I have faced harassment, discrimination, etc. because of it. I happen to be white by the way.

But take, as example, what happened a day ago with a colleague who has a real hangup with French. He gives me the third degree on wanting to know why I spoke French when my name is British. And though his tone was civil you could tell he wasn't in his head... a week prior this had come up briefly & he'd all but stormed out of the room.

And before you say that's not racism.
