-My crush and his friends were at their lunch table, and asked if they wanted to play card games.
-He smiled at his friends and said “Well, it’s up to them.” The card games require multiple people.
-They said yes, and I sat at the table. My crush on my left, and another guy (one of his friends) on my right. (there are 6 people).
-We were having a good time, until this flirty/confident guy in my class showed up.
-He asked if I liked the guy who was sitting on my right (my crush's friend).
-I think everyone was waiting for my reply because there was some mumbling.
-My crush stayed silent. I said “Yeah, I like him, as a friend.”
-My crush was like “Ohhh!” and started chuckling. (He said it in a tone like “Ohh! Burn!”) I assume it was because I basically told everyone this guy would only ever be my friend.
-That guy doesn’t like me that way either. We continued to talk and nothing changed.

I just wanna know why my crush had that reaction.

I had a few friends like this. They couldn't be bothered to come to your games or a recital you spent 5 months working on.

They think the accomplishment alone is enough unless that is you are the number one performer, not number 2 out of dozens.

They gove you money for clothes and freedom so to pther kids it looks lime you have ot made.

During school and social events you have the nice clothes or new technology. And kids think gosh that must be great or f them.

But when ypu place mumber teo or even blue ribbon and all the kids that followed behind you have happy parents. And they pity you once they notice you parents aren't there and are never there. You have a housekeeper waiting to take you home and she's proud on the side lines.

Its one thing to be parentless because they are working overtime and loving hand to mouth.

But when everyone knows your Mom and Dad are the boss and can easily find time in a Saturday to come watch you it's like the other parents judge you.

I see this so much less with current parents probably because they had the same thing or know a friend that did.

First or dead last it helps to have a friendly face after its all over.

When I ran my first official USTAF sanctioned race I didn't even invite my Mom. We were living in the same city but I know she doesn't do that kind of thing. Especially considering it was a four hour race.

I had my runnkng team to get down with afterward and friends on the sidelines.

My Mom tells me at the last moment well I wish I would have known we're going out of town. I still hadn't invited her. I didn't invite my friends either just made it known.

I undestand why poor parents sometimes suck but it why rich ones continuously do. Why have kids?
