My last breakup was very confusing. He told me "I'm not closing any doors but I can't make any promises" as if he's expecting me to wait for him and be on the backburner. Honestly I don't want to wait for him because I don't want to be with someone who is bad at communicating and doesn't know what they want.

What would be your reasons to reject or get back together with an ex?

I personally would tell my boyfriend. Just because I would feel guilty. But people like my grandparents, and more of the adults of the world... usually say absolutely not. There is no benefit in knowing and if we wanted to fool around while we weren't together it is none of my business. Its only going to make me suffer. Ultimately, if he came back, its because he loves and wants you and thats all that matters.
