My ex (of 5yrs) finally replied to me of his own accord (i sent him a text saying i missed him after a month, but i’m a little unsure of how to reply to his message.

He replied via email (to me simply saying that i missed him) saying that he misses me a lot too, he finds it hard not being able to tell me things that are going on in his life, and he’s constantly reminded of me and that he wishes that we never had the argument that broke us up. He then said (word for word):

"Hope we can at least become gradually comfortable of talking from time to time, to know each of us are both well. Of course I miss you a lot, too, so much. There’s so many good memories to take away with us, no matter where we go".

What does he mean by this? Is he saying that he doesn’t want to be together in that way again? How should i respond?

I had to see my ex to resolve something before I move across country. We were together almost 5 years, and I broke things off a year ago... Anyways here is what happened when I saw him:

- He paid $200 to help me with my car (volunteered , no mention of reimbursement)
- Gave me a really long clingy hug and said "I've missed you." and "you smell good"
- Made dinner for us and said "the old Justin would have prepared dinner hours later" That was a complaint of mine.
- Said his goal for 2016 was to get healthy, and mentioned how a few times.
- We started drinking a bit and he started getting frisky but no hook-up
- Stayed on his couch and watched TV together... he said one of the shows reminded him of me because I was the first one he watched it with.
- Walked me to my car, hugged and said "I'm sure we'll see eachother again." We have no mutual friends or any other way of accidentally running into each other.

What do you think he true feelings are for me... and please explain why as I am more confused then ever trying to figure it all out. Thank U!

OK, me and my boyfriend are trying to sort some really big and serious issues. Basically he screwed up big times by being dishonest about his past with me for 95% of the time we have been seeing each other. We have been together for less than a year. We both have fallen for each other rather hard, and both wanted to stay together and have a future. What he was dishonest about is haunting me now and bringing up a lot of issues of my own which trig his other issues, it is getting very complicated and we both get disheartened after all those arguments that we have had. He has basically broke free from a long term abusive relationship with his ex (which I have just found about) they were broken up but he never moved out so he stayed at the house for few years whilst seeing me. Now that he has finally moved and I found out about all of this - he says he wants to start a new life with me and he is in a very nice house with lots of positivity around him, but I am stuck with my hurt feelings - I feel betrayed, and manipulated into all of this. This dark cloud has taken over the bright green and sunny picture of what we used to be like. I know he has real feelings for me and so do I. I suggested counselling and we are going ahead with doing it separate at this stage as we have to battle own issues from the past, which I truly believe I wouldn't have if it wasn't for this situation. So I am doing it for me but for us as well. I know he feels very guilty and doesn't like to be reminded about the past. He gets really annoyed and angry with me when I speak about this. He says he wants for this to work but at the same time he says other things like "If you are fed up with all of this please tell me", "If you don't want me any more please tell me". I am really in a limbo as my feelings have been really hurt and I am trying to repair this for any chances at all. I just don’t know what to do or expect anymore.

i get this sick, anxious dreadful feeling when I'm reminded of him and our awkward, bad hookup. It's weird because I've had a lot of relationships and dated a bit. And this guy and I only went out twice. So it shouldn't even matter. But the whole thing was so terrible and I regret it so much and really wish I would NOT have hooked up with him. It makes me feel sick just thinking about it.

Has anyone else gotten like this? A few businesses in my city use his picture on their advertisements, and seeing his face constantly makes me feel this horrible feeling. Like I wish I could take it all back. Because I'm constantly reminded of how uncomfortable things were between us. It still makes me uncomfortable years later.

It's just him though, anyone else I've been with and its just like whatever. But when it's him I wanna block it all out and hope nobody ever knows and hope he somehow forgot!
