- joking about him "breaking up with me" for me to say that I don't want him to leave me
- saying he doesn't use you, otherwise he would always leave after sex, as there would be no point in staying. but he stays every time. he also wouldn't spend much time with me.
- having walks
- he makes a list of movies we both should watch
- he tell you we don't have to have sex every time he stays for the night
- he says we should get used to simply spend time together (without having sex)
- you both become closer when starting friends with benefits relationship
- acting silly
- he jokingly gets jealous over me and other guys who notice me (or are just my male friends)

BUT:
- he told you before ( 3 weeks ago) he doesn't want to have any relationships as he was heartbroken by a girl who broke up with him 3 years ago and since then restricts himself from relationships
- now he says he got used to me
- he doesn't want to touch or kiss in front of strangers

So what does he actually want? A relationship or just friends with benefits with more benefits? Our relationship is getting beter and closer as time passes.

When my boyfriend and I started officially dating, I made my boundaries for our relationship clear: I will not accept being called names, I will not accept being lied to, and I will not accept cheating. He said that he understood and had the same boundaries as me. Great! Or not...

I have known him for a long time and we've been friends for years. Because of this we share a big group of friends. One of the girls we hang out with used to be his fuck buddy/booty call. Whatever, but I told him I wasn't comfortable with the two of them hanging out alone any more considering their history. Because they were friends with benefits, even casual hang outs for them would be very similar to their old "dates." He said okay. Anyway, yesterday I found out that he's actually been hanging out with that girl whenever he told me he had been golfing with his brother. I told him that I was leaving and that I would be moving out of our apartment at the end of the lease (thank god it's at the end of the month) instead of renewing.
1) he lied to me: aka crossed boundary number one
2) he used that lie to cover for hanging out with his ex-fuck buddy who he had agreed not to see one on one any more (at her house no less).

He is now accusing me of being unreasonable and saying that I'm unfair because my "boundaries" were really an ultimatum. I think this is BS. I told him I wouldn't put up with it if he crossed my boundaries. He crossed them, the consequence is that he loses me. He said that it's an ultimatum because it's like he has to do what I say (not lie or hang out with her), or else i dump him.

Is that an ultimatum?

just background info: we're both 26, we've been together for 2 years, we live together.

I don't know if he hooked up with her/had sex with her or anything, but I don't even care anymore. He lied to me and betrayed me. I'm gone either way, but do you think this is just setting healthy boundaries or was I issuing an ultimatum?

It was a perfect 2 year relationship, however I went to Uni & he wanted to join the marines & we agreed splitting up might be best. He was contacting me for a month and asked to meet me, we confessed we both still had feelings but he felt we couldn't be together so began a 'friends with benefits' type relationship, I confessed I had been on a date when we split, & my ex said he literally felt cheated on & had lost trust in me despite the fact we weren't together at the time.
I confessed I wanted more than this, so he explained that he still had feelings & hated the thought of me with anyone else, but that he felt the love had faded however stated it would be perfect in 5 years time. he again explained he needs to be on his own whilst joining the marines, which I completely understood.
I explained how this felt too much like a relationship so he made it clear we weren't back together & therefore began liking girls pictures 'for a confidence boost' & brought up the subject of being able to talk to other people however in now way meet up with them.
We were at mine where I received a phone call off an old male friend, my ex overheard my male friend ask if I was still with my ex which I replied 'no', I could see my ex was hurt but he simply said that 'the phone call was just shit'
The next day I was going out with some friends in town & uploaded a picture of myself onto Facebook in a dress which showed my cleavage which got a lot of male attention on likes and comments, then whilst drunk I unawarely deleted my ex off Facebook.
I confronted him (thinking he had deleted me) & he said that I looked like a cheap desperate attention seeking f'in slag in the picture i uploaded and wanted nothing to do with me. I asked him to meet but he said he didn't think he wanted to. 2 days later I realised I had deleted him so apologised, which lead him to apologise also, then we left it there. I'm 2 weeks into no contact. Why is he so hurt but doesn't love me? Do I fight for him?
