Where/how did you meet your special someone? Seems like everyone my age is meeting people online which I think is both a good/bad thing. Bad bc some people are losing the skill of talking to new people but also good for those who may be too shy to put themselves out there or have less opportunities.

I met a guy online. We have been friends on Facebook for a couple of months now. We have chatted for a few hours straight, overnight. We got along great. We mentioned meeting a few times but it never happened. Then, there was an event that we both could be at last night. I noticed he was going, so i made sure to go. Well, when I got there, I arrived late, missed the big part of the event, but he happened to be outside with 3 other people when I arrived. I was only with one of my friends. We stood a few feet from him, and they all looked my way, they knew I was there and that it was me. He and I never met eyes. I walked past him and inside. A few minutes later he walked in, but then didn't look at me, and then they all left. I left soon after and messaged him I had seen him but I was shy so I didn't say hi. He opened my message and didn't respond.

Sooo is this rejection or what

We have been talking for close to eight months through email, text, fb messenger etc. We met through an online dating site and live a few hours apart.
At one point I told him I didn't think we would work because we didn't have as much in common as I thought. He told me he wasn't so sure, and that it doesn't matter how much or little you have in common if you decide to work at it, but regardless he enjoyed talking to me as a friend and would like to continue talking.
After 6 months he decided to come to see me and take me out. We had a lovely dinner (he paid) and walk in the park close to the restaurant before dinner while waiting for our table. Conversation flowed effortlessly and we seemed to have a good time with lots of eye contact. In fact for me personally i even forgot other people existed until the server came to refill our glasses. He seems quite shy and introverted and never made a move, tried to touch me or anything. In fact when we parted to go to our cars I only got a wave goodbye.
Now since then he has been talking to me a lot more, opening up some, and asking my opinions on some of his writing. He never mentioned meeting up again even after I did and I finally asked him out next week. He seemed ok with me coming to see him and is making plans for us (though don't know what they are yet). I just can't tell if he's interested or just thinks we may be friends?
