So there's a guy I like, but its complicated because he is a family friend. He is older than me by 5 years and i have liked him for almost three years now! I liked him but I've always been shy to talk to him, and he lives in a different country that I visit a lot and he visits where I live a lot, too. and he acts very different with me than others. He is strange in front of me and he seems to act awkward where as with others he is quite open.
He is social- very and he talks to me and looks me right in the eyes, he will come and sit next to me at public functions rather than with his brothers or family, and he always has his body facing to me when we are talking.
Recently, I was staying at his house, and the guest room they had given us was attached to a private lounge. I was sat there and we talked for hours, and I was the one who left first to sleep at half 3 in the morning! Also, after an engagement party we both attended, we were the first ones home, and he came and talked to me and was open for a short while, but as soon as other family members came into the room, he bolted it to the door! Also his mom came in when we were talking and he slipped away, again when my dad came in!
I went home, but soon he started messaging to me and having small conversations with me, and even tried to Skype me a few times. He visited in Jan, and it was so awkward again, he continued to Facebook message me, and asked for my number on iMessage, where we talked a few times, until I paniked and when he asked why I asked his brother if he likes me a while ago (His brother is like a big brother to me), I said it was because i was confused and he seemed distant but i realise now its his personality and he was just rchilling out, and then soon he stopped talking to me. I dont want to message and seem desperate. What do I do?

I've liked him all school year. The day I noticed him seemed to be the day he noticed me, too, but he had a girlfriend then (broke up early Feb). He broke up with her using college as an excuse, but she's also a lying slut, so that's a good possibility too. While dating her, his signs were subtle (glances, shoulder brushes, etc). After, though upset, he seemed to step up his signs in liking me. He got back together with her for a week (I didn't know this then) and acted distant to me again. This is my proof I'm not imagining it all. Depending on what's been going on, his behavior varies. There were 2 phases where he became more obvious (Feb and after Prom). After Prom was especially weird. He flirted HARDCORE (for him) and he didn't hide it. Everything he did before, he was attempting to hide it. This time even his friends saw. He blushed whenever I approached him, he initiated random convos, and he talked about me to his friends (idk what he said). Then, he started pulling away. He never appeared to hate me or anything, just like he was trying to distance himself. Last week before he graduated, I confessed. I'll post the conversation below (read that now). Word got out fast because it was a public spot (duh). I'm not being made fun of by the general population (opposite actually, I'm getting pats on the back for having the balls to ask the hottest guy in school), but his ex is trying to make me believe I am. She snickers with her friends when I pass. You know. That jealousy crap. From what I've heard (true or not) he felt like crap turning me down. Just because he's a nice guy? Or because he WANTED to say yes? The two days left afterwards, he was very awkward and was avoiding me. Not meanly. Just... You know, not sure how to act? He pretended not to be interested in me, but I already know he's been on my FB and twitter. His act was see through. So did he mean what he said? Or was he just being nice? Is it really bad timing? Or was he never interested?

He graduates Sunday. I've liked him all school year, and I always thought he liked me back. Constant glances, awkwardness, and shoulder brushes made me wonder for months, though he had a gf until early Feb. After the breakup, he became even more flirtatious, then stopped. This is my biggest reason for thinking he likes me. I didn't know what was going on, yet I still noticed a difference. I always wonder if things are just in my head, but this proved that not everything is. I didn't know he was back with his gf for a week until AFTER that happened. I saw him change, and my opinion wasn't influenced by anything. I think the fact he changed around ME during that week says a lot, too. I wasn't his first choice, but I obviously was one. Now, that's all old news. Prom was May 3. A couple weeks before, I noticed him being even friendlier than usual. But he already had a date, a friend that has a graduated bf. At Prom, he was very obviously checking me out, and I heard him talk about me to his friends. What he said, no idea. For a couple days after Prom, his flirting sky-rocketed. One time was when he asked me for help with a problem I think he definitely knew the answer to. But then, a few days later, it stopped. Feb all over again. But he was still talking about me. Did something happen? Then, a couple weeks ago, my friend made an ass of me and made it very clear that I like him. This he talked about to his friends A LOT. Good or bad, I don't know. He has talked to me in a time where he wasn't required to since then once, but it was different. He avoided eye contact, and he was a different awkward. It wasn't the blushy awkward, but the tense awkward. He still talks about me (less though), and the girls that like him still hate my guts, but he is still distant. I thought I finally had something, but I don't know anymore. Maybe it's just the fact he's leaving, or that his mom hates me. I also suspect a jealous "friend" of doing something. What do I do? Should I tell him?
