To get the basic shit out of the way, I'm 18, at the end of high school.

Going back to my early life, like childhood... sorry if this sounds edgy, I was always kind of different than most people around me, and not necessarily in a good way.

Most boys my age were interested in stuff like football, toy cars, and toilet humor; while I was more interested in drawing, toy dinosaurs, and didn't find toilet humor funny at all.

I don't know if I'm super socially awkward, but I've always been rather introverted, and never exactly practiced social interaction as much as I should. Therefore, meaning I'm probably not as socially experienced as I should be.

These days... not much has changed. I'm kind of the same person I was as a kid, but I just added onto that.

These days, my interests consist of drawing, writing, watching TV/shows/YouTube videos, reading, cartoons/animation/anime, walking on the treadmill for exercise, swimming, singing, etc.

None of my interests seem to be exactly socially acceptable or popular. Most guys seem to just be interested in sports, wrestling, cars, and beer... while those don't exactly appeal to me.

In social situations, I try to be as kind as I can to people, but can never truly connect because I run out of things to say pretty easily.

I do feel better though on the rare instance where I can just be myself, and stop worrying about what others think, and just do the hobbies I like that I listed earlier.

I'm sort of going off topic now... but with the information given about me, do I have a chance for a relationship with a girl? Would a girl/woman ever show interest in me?

So I was on campus today and class was cancelled so I met up with my partner (you know the one who picked me to work with her). We met up and talked for like 30 min and rehearsed but when I was trying to talk I felt like a robot and I feel like she picked up on that since my acting and my personality are kinda one in the same since I'm always putting on a mask in public

At one point I told her that she could call me and the conversation went like this:
Me: you can call me or text me if you ever wanna talk
Her: oh yeah definitely! Maybe even FaceTime?
Me: uh (pause) I dont know about that..
Her: why not? Your family is gonna think it's weird that your talking to a girl? 😏
Me: uh yeah I live with family...

This was bad because not only did I admit that it's, "strange" for me to talk to girls around my family, I also kinda admitted an issue I have with getting girls; that issue being I don't have a place of my own.

I'm socially awkward and I basically told her I'm a loser. Does it make since for me to even think about asking her out?
