I am 24, and I was born in 1990. When I was growing up, I would sometimes see these dopey movies about a single guy who was trying to win the heart of a single mom and her kids... and they would all become a happy family. Of course, the single moms in these movies were in their 30s and their kids were young.

When I was a kid, my friends single parents were also in their 30s and had careers... so that wasn't too uncommon either. I think out of all my friends, I only met 2 single moms who were in mid 20s.

Anyway... it seems like the tables have turned these days.

As a 24 year old, when I am out in the dating world, it seems like there are a TON of single moms on the market. I am not talking about those 30+ single moms you used to see... but a lot of 19-25 year old single moms.

-I have met a lot of single moms in my range who have 2-3 kids already... some by the same man some by different men.

-Some moms who are 24 already have 5-6 year old children and are in college and providing for their kids

-Some single moms who are in my age range are not college eduated, working 2-3 jobs and are raising a kid.

Maybe in the 90s I was too young to notice any of this... but is it just me... or are single moms that are 19-25 becoming more prevalent in society?

Personally... I wouldn't date a single mom at my age... but I am just curious to see your thoughts on this.

I am asking mostly for the girls that claim that asking a "man" out is unreasonable, because "asking out" is "the man's job". As if having a hole between one's legs would stop them from having the ability to say " hey wanna go on a date with me?" Or something similar.

And then there are guys who claim they are traditional in the sense that they don't have to know how to cook or clean because it's "the woman's job", and have zero relation with their children because " raising kids is not manly enough" or something like that.

"Any idiot can have sex with a woman, impregnate her and having a child but it takes a real man to be a compasionate and hard working father and a good role model to his kids"

and

"Any dumb broad with a good fertility can get knocked up by a man, get pregnant and give birth to children but it takes a real lady to be a nurturing, compassionate and hard working mother".

I think some mothers need to stop bitching and whining about how their life sucks raising children and the world "has to" help them with their struggles along with their sense of entitlement, as if all mothers automatically deserve special treatment just because they gave birth to children. As much as I dislike and have little to no respect for deadbeat, lazy and abusive fathers, I've never met any man with children, who has this sense of entitlement.
