So we've COVID 19 that, in the long run, is really no different than a rather bad case of the flu. It afflicts the same populations (prior health conditions, seniors, etc.) worse than average jane & joe. I am not saying people should die but 665,000 people die of heart attacks in the US alone yearly so let's quit the baaing like good sheep.

But the difference is, is the flu never shut down businesses, economic regions, etc. The flu doesn't mean a business let's go half of its staff (as is often the case) and learns to compensate... thus when all is said and done why bother hiring them back?
If a business has 100 staff and can make do with 50 for whatever reason would the business owner even entertain the idea of rehiring those extra 50? Just a well proven waste of their money on additional salaries.
Which means that 50 staff without jobs who depending on their qualifications, ages, etc. may not readily get another job. Which means they run the risk of becoming homeless, fixed minimal income, etc. stress / anxiety = increased suicidal ideology, etc.
