Search Results: calling an ex

This is a lofty decision, and I'm not actually going to make it on this poll, but I wanted some anonymous opinions.

I'll try to make it short. I was at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for my freshman year and achieved a near 4.0. Paperwork mix ups that went back to my initial admission surfaced second semester. In spite of my grades, extracurricular involvement, and no disciplinary history, I had to leave after this past spring. My summer internship with a very prominent woman in my field was extended into the fall. Partly because I needed somewhere to go and partly because I can do the job. I found my calling. She attended UW-River Falls, a second or third tier university compared to Madison.

I reached out to an alum of Purdue, the top man in my field actually. And I couldn't believe it, but he had seen my work and rallied the faculty around me to welcome me in. It was amazing, and I loved Purdue when I visited. But there's the OOS tuition.

A couple weeks ago, my current employer gathered some RF people to recruit me so I'd stay with her. And they did. I loved the people from RF and how not pretentious they were, frankly. D1ers get this arrogance to them I'm tired of. I visited and liked it. It's small, it's not prestigious, but it's next to the Twin Cities, so connections should be there. It's a lot cheaper. And ok, I liked the horse facility... a lot. That's not exactly my field but... it made me happy.

Not to mention people in Wisconsin are starting to know my name in this field. I don't want to leave that. There was a shit show recently with some fellow college kids, courtesy of my ex friend but... I don't think that'd follow me to River Falls. However, if I do go to River Falls, I'll have to tell Purdue, including the very influential alum that helped me a lot.

Thoughts? Again, this isn't making my decision. I just wanted some random opinions.
