Last night I got an email from a guy who I used to sleep with. It was strictly a friends with benefits relationship, but low and behold I fell head over heels for him. I told him; because I felt I was being unfair to him by being dishonest. He said he wasn't in it for a relationship and we left it at that. We did continue to sleep together over the course of 7 years, though it was not often.

He was deployed in the Navy for 4 years and during that time we spoke everyday (except when he was on deck of course) but we never saw each other. However, when he returned, we got back into seeing each other. It was only once. He picked me up. We talked a lot. I ended up initiating sex. Before this point he would often ask me how I felt about him and I would tell him. I was always open about the depth of my feelings for him and he liked that, though he never would tell me if he felt the same. This last time we hooked up it brought back the slew of feelings I had for him ten fold. And after bringing it up in conversation one more time and him denying any sort of feelings to have a relationship with me, I decided it was in my best interest to move on.

He was drunk last night and emailed me after we haven't spoke in a few months. He was very open, which isn't normally how he reacts. I asked him if he had a new girl yet and he said "No, you are taken" but would not elaborate on what he had meant. He told me I was hands down the most amazing women he has ever had the chance of meeting and also told me he was sorry that he never gave me what I deserved ("which is perfection"). I then told him that he deserved better than me. He replied "I love you though". He's never told me anything about how he felt before. Could this confession be caused by the amount of alcohol he consumed and him being lonely OR do you think he was being truthful?

For those who just want a shot at fortune telling I'll sum it up, the rest probably already knows the story by now.
Boy meets girl, they become friends, close friends but no sex involved.
1) Girl unhappy that boy doesn't reply to text but leaves it at that. Boy initiates contact again after 5 weeks or so. Friends again, very close.
2) Girl unhappy with boy when he doesn't reply while on holiday and blocks him. Boy unhappy about being blocked and radio silence. Girl apologises, boy says didn't have reception, friends again. Very very close.
3) Girl unhappy with boy when he doesn't reply to a text about meeting up. Boy replied but a day later about something entirely different. Girl very unhappy, blocks boy on what's app. Boy very unhappy and tells girl that he never wants to see her/talk to her again.
Boy and girl now ignoring each other at work. (They both check the other one out secretly though lol)
So now? Boy will call again? Yes or no?
