I'm a Black girl and the boy I like is white. Sometimes when I'm around him I get really uncomfortable because one thing he seems to constantly mention lately is diversity and how much he likes it. I try to laugh about it with my friends when I talk about him, but honestly it makes me uncomfortable when he's talking about it especially since he does it a lot when I'm around or part of the conversation. No matter what we're talking about he can find a way to bring it up. Sometimes I think it's his way of saying that he may like me, but then I think I'm reading too much into it. Either way, I don't really think about his race at all. He's had a black girlfriend, and a white girlfriend. I know he just likes who he likes and that he doesn't have any race reservations. I get the feeling he thinks I do. I know he's seen me with a few of my flirty guy friends who are all black, but I don't like them like I like him, he just doesn't know that.

Has anyone ever made your race really apparent, even if their intentions were good?
