I’m wondering how many people have gone through a similar situation where you had to for your own self respect reject a guy or a girl that you really liked.

How did you feel afterwards? How did you heal from it?

I recently started talking with a guy that I had a crush on. His the one who approached me in the first place. He also showed interest only to slowly start pulling away. He started showing signs of confusion as to his desire to continue this friendship/ new relationship maybe love thingy with me. I felt my emotions being hyped up unfairly by him. He new I had an interest in him. I had a hint that he was approached by other girls too as a suitor. He confessed he is stuck in making a decision and doesn’t want to upset anyone. When he asked of me to stay in contact. I felt it was totally unfair of him to ask this of me while his going to take his precious time deciding what he wants. I felt like a doormat that he can come and say Hi whenever he feels like it. One thing I did was to never pursue him when he took his distance. I stayed indifferent and acted like I don’t care and don’t live for him. He promised to see me one day but never planned anything within those two weeks. I felt like I had to put my foot down to avoid more hurt. So I told him that it was best if we stopped being friends and moving on. He never replied back to my message. I’m assuming he didn’t care and I actually just made it easy for him.

I’m a pretty shy person when it comes to meeting people. Once I’m comfortable around someone I become a much more fun person (although still have my shy moments).

I have had people tell me that because I didn’t really talk to anyone in school first (like didn't initiate conversations too often) people thought I was cold and didn’t WANT to talk to people.

Just wondering if guys find this kind of girl annoying or cute or what.

I have a hard time making eye contact with a guy if I like him/find him attractive. I’m not saying I’ll never look them in the eyes, I just have to look away after a few seconds or I start to blush.
