Jerry loved and cared for the dog but is controlling and abusive towards the dog. At school Jerry makes average grades and bullies the mute kid in his class. When his dog was sleeping soundly outside, Jerry sprayed the dog in the face with a water hose and laughed when he saw the dog was distressed.

Jerry's step dad told Jerry to get undressed and sit on the bed. Jerry said no, and the step dad choked him until he passed out.
