So some background: my girlfriend dumped me about 3 weeks ago for couple reasons. I'm clingy, obsessive, and have a drinking problem that caused me to become rude and argumentative to her, family, And any innocent bystander practically. Since the breakup, I have been sober and have attended AA weekly. Immediately post breakup, I screwed up and begged for a second chance. She ended up blocking me. After a few days, she unblocked me on text and snapchat. We have been talking and hanging out. At first, if I tried flirting she would get upset saying I'm crossing the line. But lately things have been sliding. She has crashed at my place multiple times. We either have sex or we cuddle all night. In the mornings when I leave for work I get a kiss. Yesterday, we went shopping at the mall and she let me hold her hand while we walked (I instigated). One concern I guess is she has kept me a secret from friends and family. She says they aren't huge fans of me due to how I handled the breakup and being a drunk, so I guess I understand that. Last night after shopping, we were playing Xbox and she casually threw out "you're my boo." I mean that's not really something you throw out, right? I want her back, And don't want to ruin it by rushing. Is she dropping hints she does want to get back together? Or am I just overlooking pointless things?

I have never dated, nor had my first kiss. To know a bit of background, I was never a guy who went out to play too much. I did when I was about 10? My family was always busy, my dad always yelling and my mom kinda overprotected me and my brothers. I went my whole school life to the same school. It was only for guys and semi-military. Once I graduated I was 18, really shy, and learned to don't even touch nor hug girls. My parents are divorced now, my dad is a poor example of how to be a man, but a good example of what I DON'T want to do in my life. However, I can't help but feel like I'm just like him. So I don't date to save the pain for whoever my girlfriend would be. Besides I've never had good looks. Do you think I should just ask anyone for a kiss? Is it a problem not to have it?

Personal Background (feel free to skip if you'd like) :

Throughout my life I've lived in and/or around the projects. Luckily our family was just barely well enough to stay out of Section 8 housing but by the time I was born my mother and father were fresh immigrants and we spent the first half of my life living in a 1 bedroom apartment for a family of 4. The majority of our district is either black or Hispanic, so I've had plenty of opportunities to listen and interact with them, including their political stances. I've never met a single Republican in my life. I even considered myself a Democrat simply because everyone else was and it seemed like the right choice. Not to mention that Republicans are very looked down on and especially after the recent election people over here straight up threaten or intimidate others if they just think differently.

Long story short, I've seen little to no improvement with the conditions of black and Hispanic people, despite the continued promises by Democratic mayors, governors, and even Barack Obama (which I was really hoping for) that never got fulfilled. And its not just here, its the same shit in Chicago and Detroit and I can't fuckin wrap my head around it. All we've been getting are higher taxes, increased rent and less police on the streets yet, people refuse to challenge the Democratic Party. What do ya think? Am I misplacing the blame or is it justified? Let's keep the convo chill
