I sent a happy Easter message to a former nearly boyfriend ( that happened last year). We have met up a couple of weeks ago and the meeting went well. When we met he was kind of flirty but everytime I hinted something like being flirty he pulled away again. My text message simply said that I wished him a happy Easter and lots of fun time with his family and friends. He left me waiting for his answer a little over a day. I actually thought he had forgotten about my message. Then he texted back with two texts and a picture of a bunny and a pug ( which is my favorite animal). The texts were funny and at the end he wished me a nice time and a long sunny weekend. Now where do I go from here? Was it meant just friendly or something more? I feel like he is sending mixed messages and playing with me. Am I overreacting?

Hello! So I came across this website earlier relating to a question that I have had on my mind for a while. I am twenty years old and have never had a boyfriend. I have been asked out on dates in high school, but let down every guy because they either weren't my type or I did not feel that connection ( a wee bit of trust issues too). The closest that I have had to having a boyfriend was a couple of months ago. I met him online and he was a gentleman, but I was so nervous to even hold his hand, he assumed that I wasn't fully interested in him. He said that he liked me, although he wasn't sure if I truly knew what I wanted. He even said that he was willing to wait for me once I found out what I wanted. Shortly after a few hangouts, he ended up pursuing one of my friends, even though he was aware of the fact that she had a long-distance boyfriend. That really turned me off haha and I have been avoiding my friend like the plague. People think that I am picky and I can agree. I mean call it a self-esteem issue, but I know there isn't anything wrong with me because I have been asked out, and if I truly wanted a relationship, I would have given those other guys a chance. Guys tend to look at me, but I never truly initiate eye contact because I just feel as if I am not interested. I have disregarded any dating advice that I have heard from family and friends, because I find that they have not found themselves in stable relationships, so why should I take it from them? I would love an opinion from you all, I feel like the guy I previously saw was right about me. One of my friends even asked me if I was asexual, I might be (who knows). I love the idea of getting married and I love children, but if it doesn't happen then we will see. Do you think that being single is a choice or is it a matter of luck/being in the right place at the right time/meeting someone and taking the initiative to build a relationship? Thank you much :)

Is it strange for teenagers to shake hands upon meeting? I am an 18 year old girl and I always reach in for a firm handshake when greeting someone. I know it is probably fine when meeting adults, but what about people my age? I usually get strange looks when I try to shake hands. Should I stick to a simple hug? Also, I am meeting my boyfriend's family soon. Should I hug or handshake his mom? What about his brothers and sister?

I recently found I was moving this summer states away due to a family situation. My boyfriend and I have been talking about getting promise rings or bracelets for the meaning behind it. It's kind of reassurance to us that we will remain faithful and that distance won't put a damper on what we have as well as we hope to replace it with something permanent when we're older and financially stable.

That being said, I want to get a leather bracelet for each of us with a curved metal plate with the longitude and latitude of an event that is special to the both of us. Help me out?

Option #1: Where we first met. We actually met on Tinder so when we first met, we instantly knew that this was going to be so much more than just meeting someone you just text. It was the beginning of us. He always says he never believed in love at first sight until he met me for the first time in person and I couldn't agree more when I looked at him.

Option #2: Where we had our first kiss. We were just seeing each other at the time, not official, but we were both exclusively seeing each other for about a month now. When we had our first kiss, we felt sparks that we've never felt with anyone else. To this day, I still feel those sparks and he says he does as well.

Option #3: Where he asked me to be his girlfriend. Funny story with this one: We went to Fright Fest at Six Flags and we went through many haunted houses that night. On our last one, we got separated by a scarer (whatever they're called) and I just bolted while he strolled through laughing his ass off that I ran off. When we got out, we had fake blood splattered on our faces and in our hair and we both laughed. As a result, I made him give me a piggy back ride back to the car and he asked me to be his girlfriend on the way back.
