Do you believe that alcohol will make someone reveal the truth about something or reveal their truth selves? Why or why not?

Also, what amount of intoxication is necessary for "In vino veritas" to become true? Does the person have to only be a little tipsy, drunk or almost passed out to reveal either their truth thoughts or feelings? Can someone use alcohol as an excuse to justify their actions and say that they didn't mean it if the statement is true?

In my experience, this statement is totally correct. While I personally don't drink, my friends do. Usually most will down several full on swallows of hard-liquor for...well...fun. Of course, I find it hilarious how they start to act when they get drunk, but some of them have said some mean and hurtful things. Two friends kept arguing, one making fun of the others' dead siblings and the second biting back with telling all of us the others' personal secrets. It really got out of hand fast. Then some people will randomly start coming on to each other, neither showed feelings for the other before. The next morning, no one (except me and another sober friend) remember anything that happened or what was said. Kind of wrong how that works.
