I'm 26 and met a guy on instagram. He liked the way I looked and we got talking. Then after months of calls he met me. We bonded immediately and he decided to move to my city (4 hours from his home). I thought it was too fast but he was determined and wanted me.

He then applied for work and got a job. He applied for work opposite by place of employment...it was weird - too intense. He'd hang out there and have coffee too - just to be near me. I started making up excuses like I had meetings, because I needed boundaries - it was too intense.

He felt he was doing all the work - and he was to a point, lots of dinners and external things, but not much internal stuff - it felt like a show. Anyway, he revealed that he was a jehovahs witness and I was annoyed he didn't tell me how big a deal it was to him earlier on. His dad is an 'elder' (leader) and very strict, and didn't approve of me(us). Meanwhile, he's living in 'sin' by sleeping with me, drinking now and then, and looking to become a successful business man (jehovahs prefer humility not big dreams!). I found it hypocritical - how he was living - and he started comparing his salary to mine (I earn more), my status to his, where I live, all the superficial things..and it's like all the things he said he LOVED about me, became the things he was jealous of or resented...i then found out he quit his past 2 jobs on bad terms, and then he quit his new one too - he thinks he's better than everyone. Then, he started to pull away. He came around to talk and 'melted' when he saw me. He said he felt he couldn't give me what I needed and his self-esteem was sh*t. He felt inadequate as a barista (coffee maker) and wished he left his small town earlier and made something of himself. I told him I could be there for him or he could do it alone - up to him. He got emotional and said he just hasn't ever had anyone there for him like I am and didn't know how to handle it. Weeks later he freaked out once more when I was away for a holiday - he got moody and annoyed when I didn't answer his 100 calls and texts. I came home and we 'mutually' broke up. Becuase he started acting cold - he went from roses and gifts and 'i love you' to 'i can't give you what you need...i feel insecure...i don't know what I believe in I don't know who I am...'.

My question is, why all the drama? If he just wanted sex - there are far easier ways of getting it without relocating and changing jobs. And also, why lie about the seriousness of his involvement with a very hardcore religion? With me being liberal minded, did he know I wouldn't have let the relationship go anywhere?

I saw him 10 days after we broke up .I knew he didn't know anybody in my city and felt bad. I knocked on his door, and he was angry at me. He said 'what are you doing here? what am I supposed to do>?! pretend its all fine?!' but HE is the one who pulled away? I don't get it! so, its been a month, and haven't heard one peep from him. What the hell was this all about?
