I was dating a man for a little over a month. I felt I was putting in all the work to see him. I was always going over to his apartment, going out of my way to see him. He was away for a week for work which I understood and I assumed when he got back he would want to spend time with me. He didn’t, he said he was busy settling into his apartment and he couldn’t see me at all which was upsetting since I put so much time and effort into him. We didn’t have to spend time at his apartment but he still said no. I explained myself the best I could, I wanted to spend time with him, quality time is important to me. I was putting so much energy and effort into him and I feel like it wasn’t being reciprocated. He basically didn’t understand my side which was frustrating. I didn’t want to feel like I was giving him my all when he wasn’t trying as hard as me, so I decided to end it before we got more attached. After I did, he said it hurt him that I ended things and that I didn’t give him a chance to show me. Whatever that means. He said he feelings were mutual but I felt his side was lacking. Men if a woman really meant something to you wouldn’t you give her what she wanted? Wouldn’t you make it a point to see her if she wanted to see you? He’s texted me a few times since then so I feel like he will come back eventually probably when he realizes what he did wrong.
