There is this very attractive man at my work who seemed somewhat interested in me. He would always stare and attempt to start a conversation, but never seemed to have enough confidence to do so. I know I'm not the most approachable person, but I was really hoping he would muster enough courage to talk to me, because I'm to afraid to approach him. This has been going on for a couple months now.

Around the last week of December, I attempted to tell him, indirectly, that I was interest in him, by telling my co-worker/friend about a cute guy in that department... just loud enough for him to hear. He got the message and tried to talk to me later that day. However, I fucked up. As he approached, I suddenly forgot how to speak English and my heart was beating so fast, so I ended up ignoring him.
I felt so bad for humiliating him and I honestly cried over this incident.

Now, he would stare at me from afar, but go out of his way to avoid me. I know I just ruined a possible relationship, and I don't want to lose him. It's been three weeks now and I'm afraid he's going to move on to another girl. I plan on apologizing to him today for ignoring him and telling him that I actually like him. I don't know if he would want to talk to me, but I really do want to fix this. Should I tell him or leave him alone?

Recently, I have decided that I am ready to pursue a long term relationship. However, I find this to be an increasingly difficult thing to do. I am what my friends call a "guys girl" so I get on with guys very easily (I am very chill and approachable, this much I know about myself) and I am pretty sure that they see me in the "bro" category which is fine. There seems to be only two categories for the way the opposite sex treats me though. Either they're really cool people, or they are very aggressive perverts who say things to me that I am 100% certain they would not repeat to my face. I was discussing this with some of my friends/coworkers (they are 32 and 41, but you wouldn't ever be able to tell) and they told me that the reason some guys that I might like to date don't talk to me is because they're intimidate by my physical appearance. I am 6'0 tall, but they also always follow it up with I might also be intimidating because I am "too attractive". I was never aware that was a thing, and I still don't think that it is, especially not for me. I'm aware that I can turn some heads but it's nothing "whoa". Which brings me to the question: Is it possible that you would not approach someone because they are too attractive?

I'm not good at flirting. When I go out with friends I tend to hang out with them and have fun (that's why I go out in the first place), but it's been too long since someone approached me. I'm average height/weight and I've been told that I'm cute, so I know it's not about physical appearance. My style is casual chic, which is what most girls dress like in places I go to, so I'm not over- or under-dressed

I occasionally see someone staring at me, but I have (nearly) always assumed that I look terrible, that my makeup is messed up or something like that, I almost never assumed that someone is interested, but recently I've talked to my friend and he said that a longer stare always means someone is at least interested or they find you cute. I'm curious, what do you think?

Also, some advice about flirting would be useful, I'm shy around people I don't know, I don't know how to seem more approachable?
