I have a chronic life threatening respiratory disease that I've had since I was born. I'm in a good state, but I still cough quite a bit, a noticeable amount throughout the day. This has always been a burden that's perpetually convinced me that attempts to date people would be a waste of time since nobody would conceivably overlook this. Despite that, I have had a few girlfriends, but none that lasted any amount of time, really. I can count how many people I've told about my illness on one hand based on my idea that only people who I care about and care about me deserve to know what's going on. Another problem is that 90 minutes of every day have to be devoted to treatment at specific times, and I'm unable to have kids as it causes infertility. With that out of the way, it's still hard for me to tell anyone about it, I told my last girlfriend, less than 24 hours after that, she cheated on me. I'm going to ask a coworker I know out tomorrow, she has never brought up my cough, and it doesn't seem to stop her from getting all nudged up next to me. I don't feel like I've become close enough to her, so I haven't told her. She's told me that she does want kids. I know I'm looking way ahead, but if things go long term, that's something I feel that she should know sooner rather than later, but I know it'll be a lot easier for her to hold me to that and walk away if I tell her before she sees who I am first. I'm kind of stuck, when should I tell her, assuming she says yes?
