So we have been together for a bit over a year and before the other night I had never seen him cry before. He stayed up pretty much all night for two nights in a row because he had exams. I asked him to come to my place to relax and watch a movie, he came over at about 7, and he looked pretty exhausted. He got a call halfway through the movie, he went into the kitchen to take the call, I later found out that one of his high school friends was killed in a car crash.

After he came back he went back to watching the movie but after about 10 minutes, he started tearing up and then it turned into full blown crying. I just held him and stroked his hair until he fell asleep on my couch. I think it was mainly the exhaustion that caused the crying, anyway he has been avoiding me for the past 3 days. Is this a pride thing? Should I give him some space or confront him?

My parents are divorcing because my dad is a alcoholic, and can't stop drinking, he's also in the Military (go figure). He's my step dad, and I've seen him drunk more than I've seen him sober. He married my mom when I was about 6, and we moved to the states.

The Military has found out about his Alcoholism, and is giving him counseling 2/3 times a week, when I, a 14 year old know that this man needs more help. He's the only person in his unit who isn't in Poland, so he can't go to counseling because he's always on staff duty, (24 hour shift).

Anyway, I can't begin to tell you how many times I've had to be in a car with him while he's been drunk. We went on a military post, to wash laundry. I told him I didn't wanna go, I don't wanna die on the hands of a drunk. He called my mom and she noticed he was drunk, and she told him not to take me, he took me anyway. Last year around December I got my first phone, he drove me to the PX not being able to walk straight, we were going to get my mom perfume for Christmas, it was very VERY obvious he was drunk, and people from my school walked into the phone shop as my step dad, whos eyes we're bloodshot, breath smelled like liquor, who couldn't stand straight, was embarrassing me and himself.

My mother got a dui from being a little over the drinking limit, the german drinking limit, after going out for the first time in months, she's had depression and wouldn't even leave the couch. She wasn't even drunk, and I've seen her drunk side before. Anyway, my mom is prego, and needed to go to the doctor last weekend, but he had to go to work, so he let her use the car, and when he came to pick us up in the morning, he was very drunk, and my mom was very upset.

Last weekend he came over to wash laundry, drunk, and he went somewhere, came back, and now the side of the car is scratched up because he crashed into something. My mom was on the phone talking to someone saying she cares about him and cries about him, but i don't
