I had a disagreement with a good female friend the other day. I have thought for a while that she may be interested in me but the way she was during this event has made me think even more that it is possible, I would be grateful for all opinions.

The disagreement was about a mutual friend and to start with she defended the person's actions but then conceded some points but made excuses for the other person. Thinking the conversation was done with I shrugged my shoulders and began to move away at which point she said, 'don't you walk away from me...please' and grabbed my sleeve. I think she shocked herself as not only was her voice highly emotional but she tried to make light of it when she realized what she had said. After talking a little more, when she admitted I was right, she threw her arms around me and gave me a hug for what seemed like a long time. Being annoyed about the other issue I didn't respond at all. I saw her later in the day and no more was said, although she seemed a little sheepish.

As I said in the first paragraph, I have had suspicions for a while that she is in love with me and although a relationship between us is not really possible as we are both attached, I would like to know if she does have these feelings. I did develop quite strong feelings for her when we were getting to know each other well a few months ago, but I have them under control now (but my curiosity is still alive and well!).

I could post other details but I would be interested to know what observations other members make of the one event in isolation. Would she get that upset at a friend finishing a conversation? She is quite feisty normally but came over as really quite desperate and needy for a short while.
