I'm writing a book that I really hope gets published one day, but for now, I'm just wondering which demographic it would be more popular with. If you don't like books or would want something shorter, would you watch this as a movie?

My book is about the theory of nature vs. nurture and has lots of character development, which is always my favorite part about reading a book.

The story revolves around a group of teenagers living in California. I was born and raised in San Bernardino, but I chose for them to live in Long Beach. If you live in California, you know neither of those areas are very safe. Because of that, all of my characters have tragic pasts. I know there are thousands of books about teenagers living in gang cities, but I feel that mine is different because it's more about the characters and why they are different from each other, and why they made the choice that they did, rather than the crimes around them or the crimes they commit. The characters have similar natures, but different nurtures, which I will go over.

When Tinleigh Price was young, she had a nice family and large house, but her mother had an affair and got pregnant. Her father found out and left them. Now, Tinleigh resents her brother and blames him for her father leaving. Also raised by a single mother are twin brothers, Elijah and Eliot. Unlike Tinleigh's mother, their mother is addicted to drugs and is abusive. The brothers only have each other and are often kicked out of their own home to fend for themselves in the dangerous city.

Next is Alexandrius and Jayson. Both of them have a brutal past of violence, but Alex grew up into a beautiful and cheerful woman due to the support of her father and sister. Alex likes Jayson because he has a similar past to her own, but Jayson resents her because of her support and feels like she got out easy. He is permanently disabled (missing an eye), haunted by his past, and out for revenge against a man he was too young to defend himself against.

We used to talk on the phone everyday. Now since one is in college and working and the other is doing other things, they don't call me much anymore. When I call them, they NEVER call me back. I mean they text me back but they need to answer when I call. I'm not having it anymore! One told me, "I have a life. I can't always be on my phone 24/7."
The other one said she has been busy with school and I scolded at her that she hasn't been calling me since last weekend and we were going to talk after she got done eating. She had company. The other girl I was friends with yelled at me that she doesn't wanna hear any drama and I didn't even say two words to her. I know I talk about my ex boyfriend and wanting to get revenge but it's over. She didn't have to yell. My other peers haven't called me much either. I know they have families and busy with whatever but they can at least call me! Rude selfish people!

The reason for that is every since our other friend (lets call her Anna)'s boyfriend broke up with her she's been upset and we were there for her. Then things staring to get out of control. Wanna wanted to get revenge on him and even pretended to be someone. She even pretended to be a police officer and called the old program. Also made a fake account to spy on others and him, and used a private number to prank call him. My best friend (lets call her Alexis) said that a real friend wouldn't ask you to do things like that is true. We didn't speak to Anna for a couple of weeks because of that and then Anna and her mom came over to my house and wanted to know what's is going on and why I haven't been calling. Then I explained to her about the situation and broke down crying (I know very very pathetic and week). Anna told me that she isn't taking to her ex anymore and all. Alexis told her the same thing. Then again Anna is starting to talking about her ex again after we just explained it to her. Anna apologized for taking advantage of the situation and wanting us to help her with her childish plans that can end up with trouble. There she goes again talking about her ex. Help?
Alexis's mother doesn't want her hanging with Anna. My dad doesn't know about the thing Anna did so I'm not going to squeal on Anna.
