For my present to my boyfriend this year for Christmas, I bought him Halo 4. He specifically asked for it when I asked him what he wanted.

In addition to the game, I am taking him to dinner this Saturday. We're going to an authentic Italian place and it's rather expensive. I saved up for it all year. The dishes are like $20-$40 a piece not including dessert and drinks. But I know he really likes food - good food, that is. His family is rather well off and he always goes out to eat at nice places, but he's never been here.

After the dinner, I've arranged for a horse and carriage ride through the downtown area. I personally like horses and I enjoy that sort of thing, so it's kind of a gift to me as well.

I've arranged this with his mother and have only told him to clear his evening on the 15th. He has no idea that I've planned anything.

Any yes, of course I will be paying for the entire evening...Though I might ask him to drive since his GPS in his car isn't as...moody as mine is.

Anyway, lame idea or good idea?

I always feel lame just buying something for him.

My boyfriend lives very far away from me and a couple of months ago I gave him something that was VERY dear to my heart, something I always wanted before I got it. It’s one of the apple products and it wasn’t cheap so I thought I’d give it to him so we could communicate, since he doesn’t pay for texting, he can use AIM…anyway, long story short. For my birthday he got me absolutely nothing, not that I cared.

But since Christmas is right around the corner I figured “hey, let me buy him something he will like” so I did before any of it was gone, I even made him a cute homemade Christmas card, took me 2 days to do it.

A month back I showed him what I wanted as a gift (I know it’s a gift and all but if he had gotten me something I didn’t want, he would’ve wasted his money). So I told him what I wanted; and now what I want is out of stock, and he didn’t get it for me… should I be upset about this at all? Am I acting selfish? I don’t mean to sound like a spoiled brat…
