So a few hours ago i was at a drug store (pharmacy) with a friend of mine to help him drop off a resume. He has been hit hard by the pandemic and is desperate for work. He called the pharmacy up, and they said that they were definitely hiring to bring his resume, they need pharmacy techs. We go together, moral support, that kind of thing. When we get there he asks the manager if he can drop off his resume.. She politely informed him that they were not hiring, That he should try again later. He said that he was told that they were hiring.. She looked at him, Looked at her staff (all women), and Said, Sorry we are not hiring men at this time. He said that weather or not he is a man should not matter as to weather or not he can be a pharmacy tech.

Why is it acceptable to discriminate on the basis of gender.. We called the corporate office and reported it, its an EOE violation.. We have not had a response yet.. But what do you all think, do you think its ok to discriminate on the basis of gender? 1

And before you say "shit that doesn't happen blah blah blah" I was there, I heard the conversation my self.. and i am going to be helping him sue (lawyer)..

Long story short that leads to this:

I go over to my friends to drink tonight. Towards the end we're all playing smash. I absolutely suck ass which fine I admit multiple times while playing. My friends brother gets into calling me shit constantly and I'm not backing down because regardless of him actually doing the best, he's only won 1 game. Out of the 5 games most of the time it was me saying "well you aren't winning" every time he called me bad.

This ended up with him getting in my face saying "I will woop your ass" and my response was "I'm not putting my hands on you". After this he chases me out the door (I'm not staying near him regardless) I sprain my ankle walking down the steps and he calls me an idiot for that... cool. I drank a shit ton, don't' feel safe crashing on their couch so I drove home smashed. Stupid I know... I didn't know what else to do.

I knew drinking around people I don't know would be a bad idea because I don't know these people minus the one friend. Now I'm sitting here crying my eyes out because I topped off the shitty idea of hanging out with my friend with driving home drunk. I keep reading bulshit online "Men can cry" but it doesn't make me feel better. Ignoring how I feel and playing League would make me feel better. Crying my sadness out over how bad the night turned out isn't helping me. Whoever said crying is "Okay" was wrong. I'd rather ignore it, move on and be happy again.
