My partner objects heavily to my proposal to hire someone to help us with cleaning chores twice a month. Her reasoning is that she doesn't feel good with the idea that her/our hard earned money goes to a cleaning help. She prefers to do it herself and she feels like she contributes more financially, since she earns less than I. My argument is that, contribution to a relationship does not necessarily have to do with how many money or chores one does. I am willing to pay some money every 2 weeks for help, because the benefits would be for both of us. We wouldn't have to to those chores, we would have some more time for ourselves and I wouldn't have to see my partner exhausted and frustrated. She argues that I should not mind and she would do all the chores by herself, but I do mind AND I don't want neither me nor her to be involved with all the workload. Who is right? What is the path we should follow?
