Search Results: do people have the right not to be judged

Judgment is inescapable. Whether it be about our past, present, or future endeavors, it is difficult to escape other people's opinions on our level of character integrity. However, there have always been varying opinions on when, where, and whom is properly allowed to apply it.

With that said, what is your opinion on judgment? More specifically, when do you have the RIGHT to judge someone?

9 years ago I was suffering from depression and agitation and my parents decided to send me to an impatient psychiatric unit because they thought I had a mental illness that (when demonstrating those symptoms) meant a risk of suicide. It later turned out that not only did I NOT have that disease but I had another disease (diagnosed a year later) that when inpatient hospitalization is utilized only makes worse and in my mentally compromised caused permanent psychological damage. I remember begging them not to send me and warned them that I would never forgive them and dedicated the rest of my life to making them pay for it. I got my chance 3 months ago when my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer with 6 months to live. She called me and asked me to come visit her and I told her off. I told her that I hated her and my dad for what they did, reminded them that I warned them about what they did and that I've been waiting 9 years for this day told her about how it affected me and said "I hope you're proud of yourself" and hung up. She tried calling me for the next two weeks and I kept ignoring them. But a lot of people said that I was being too hard on her and that she had good intentions and did it because she loved you and was worried about you. However (disregarding that it's common sense that if you love and care about someone you shouldn't lock them up in a place where they're treated like a rabid dog) for me having good intentions isn't enough, they must be followed by good deeds, not damaging ones. Maybe those people are judging me without being in my position.

FYI, if you're going to accuse me of judging my parents without being in their position; NEWS FLASH: victims have EVERY RIGHT to judge their perpetrators.

So do you think that good intentions are meaningless without good actions?
