First of all, sorry this is so long:

I'm 29 and in a marriage literally on its last legs. We have filled out divorce papers and are giving counseling one more shot before we call it quits. And I'm going to give counseling everything I've got, because if we can stop hurting each other, it's worth it -- so this is not about leaving my wife for someone else. It's more about believing myself undesirable and being scared I'll be alone if I do end up divorced.

I had a scene partner in an acting class who I've become good friends with. We seem to have some kind of mental connection that allows us to make each other laugh and can be very honest and rather unfiltered with each other. She's single, 33, and very smart and attractive, and very talented. She understandably has guys interested in her constantly, which she always complains about because they never seem to be the ones she wants to be into her -- she's told me this. She gives me a lot of life advice because she's a very generous and giving person and has recently experienced a lot of personal growth herself. We also talk acting a lot -- about kissing scenes and such -- and encourage each other in our careers, as well as our relationships.

The evidence:

- In encouraging me about my acting potential she's told me "you're an attractive guy and that's rare."

- During acting improvisations, we've held hands and hugged when it's been totally unnecessary for the exercise.

- Our last night of acting class she interlaced her fingers with mine when we held hands at the end of the night and reached behind her to hold me against her during a group photo.

- After our last acting class, I texted her and she responded "last night I had the strangest dreams and woke up wondering how you were - then you texted."

- I recently hung out with her and a friend we discussed how I had lost some weight and she touched my stomach as she pointed out where I'd lost weight.

- She will call me randomly to check on me and how I'm doing and how my marriage is going.

- She's told me I'm "very special" and how grateful she was I was her scene partner and evidently I'm the only one of her friends who's visited her at home (she lives about 75 minutes away from our acting studio).

- However, she's also told me about her relationships, and about how she's kind of seeing a guy with whom she has great sexual chemistry although it doesn't seem to be exclusive.

- She's talked to me about how important sexual chemistry is in a relationship.

- She encourages me a lot using the word "friend" and "friends" to describe us.

So the question: is she into me? It has felt like it before, but I have lost any ability to tell whether a woman is into me or not.

I would not leave my wife for her if the answer is yes ... I doubt I'd date anyone for at least 6 months even if I did end up getting a divorce, and who knows what would be going on by then. I just want to know two things:

- Am I desirable?

- Can I read signals right?

Me looking at the label of some foodstuff, made me think about this question. Remember the woman in CA who sued McDonald's for millions of dollars, because she burned her legs with a cup of hot coffee...and the hot coffee cup wasn't labeled with a "CAUTIOUS contents may be hot!" label?

Stupid, I know, ...but she won a 7-figure settlement (as in millions of dollars)

My question to you is...would you sue a large national/global corporation for millions of dollars, if you felt it was high odds that you would win?

Consider the state of the economy around the world right now, and how big corporations pretty much have swallowed up a large portion of each nation's wealth...therefore such company can absorb a frivolous lawsuit or two without missing a beat.
