Search Results: his friends are rude

A friend of mutual friends has just come back to the US from years in Australia. Now a number of people have referred to him as hilarious, he's better than his siblings, etc. I've heard one say he's a troublemaker.

Now I'm someone who gives people the benefit of the doubt until they do something that crosses lines anyway so the 'troublemaker' dub isn't a factor. I go off 'instinct' more as I have got a very good judge of character.

And the two times I've encountered him I haven't been impressed.
Thing is, we haven't said a word to each other. I am just going off observations. He hasn't actually done anything offensive (hasn't been rude), he isn't threatening, and he dresses decent enough. There's nothing that easily comes to mind... I just him a bit off-putting.

So am I being too judgmental or not?

I thought we had a reasonable rapport. I've ignored a few things on his side (he can be rude to everyone at some point) but today when teasing about cutting in front of someone else he essentially said 'fuck off' & then right after when I said 'wait till tomorrow' he responded with I was 'threatening him' (don't see how when I laughed to show it was a joke).

Or should I talk to him about it?

I ask the last bit cause I'm Irish/Scottish & when I cut someone out that's it. Forget it. No going back. I am done, through and couldn't care if someone got on their knees & begged forgiveness.

As an example my closest friend, in fact, didn't even directly insult my brother 20+ years ago but my brother got offended by what my friend said & will have nothing to do with that friend... that's the cut off / you're 'dead' to me persona that runs in the blood you could say.
