Been talking to this girl I like for 4 months, but we aren't anything official, mostly because I'm too shy to make a move.

A couple weeks ago she told me about this guy we both know who randomly started texting her, but she told me she didn't like him and was trying to ignore him.

Things have been pretty rocky between us lately, and we hadn't texted for 2 days. But then this morning she sent me a screenshot of that guy's Facebook post about him finishing his last semester and graduating from college. Then she said "I guess he is smart." I figured it was sarcasm because we were making jokes the other week about this guy being dumb, so I started playing along and was saying how surprised I am that he made it.

But then she started to defend him, and was telling me he must be smart if he made it, and how he was texting her about how hard his classes were and certain finals he had to take. But then she told me "idk, I don't pay attention to his texts." I asked why they still text if she doesn't like him, and she told me she'd feel bad if she didn't text him back because he seems like he needs someone to talk to.

So my question for all of you, is what the hell? Why would she choose this to be her opening text after 2 days of no contact? Why would she bother telling me they still text? 2 weeks ago when she said she didn't like him I believed her, but know I don't know what to think.

I just made it official with my girlfriend and I really do like her obviously because I made it official. I like a lot of things about her but there is one thing that kind of bothers me that I'm trying to accept.
She is very selfish. For example, I always have to be the one to drive to her most of the time, she even admits that her biggest flaw is selfishness, one time, she almost left me hanging to go see her good guy friend, etc. The thing is I don't think she realizes sometimes what she's doing.
She also mentioned one time that if I can't deal with her not showing too much affection, we should reconsider this relationship because she isn't going to change that because that's who she is. I do understand that I shouldn't change her and thats fine but just the fact that she's not even considering making sacrifices is kind of a red flag
