Just a question that seems to come up often. So, suppose you meet this amazing person. Said person was in a relationship sometime before you that produced a child, and for whatever reason, said person broke it off with their ex*. Now s/he is alone raising this child.

Would you still want to date him/her, or would you consider this person to be "damaged goods"? If you did decide to date, when would be the appropriate time to meet the kid(s)? Would you have any insecurities going in?

*The situation could be:

1) Said person's ex cheated on them, and they left rather than stay in a compromised relationship.

2) Said person was actually the "other person" in an affair, and their "ex" left them for their original partner.

3) Said person's ex was abusive, and they left to escape the relationship.

4) Said person and their ex separated for other, less "dramatic" reasons, more or less peacefully.

Would it be a factor if the ex was involved in custody of their child? Would you date if they had no contact with their ex?

Just wondering if single parents can still be "on the market".

OK first off my opinion is that we need to raise taxes on everybody. Even if it is just a 1-5 dollar tax raise to start with.

I say this because we are putting all the debt on my generation on. (I'm 17yrs old) Yet all the adults are saying that they love their kids, grandkids, etc... which is bullcrap because if the adults did love us they would allow there to be a tax raise on them to at least take some of the debt off us. No matter how hard anyone prays the debt will not magically go away, it needs to be paid off. Ever since we first became colonies here nobody made decisions that made everybody happy and a decision will never make everybody happy and that does include the topic of our debt and taxes. Even if It won't make you happy, just giving up a little bit now will make the lives of future generations at least tolerable.

Everybody buys so much money on useless stuff that we could use on taxes. I mean the adults might as well not buy us kids ANY presents or gifts and put money into our savings for the taxes we will have. Buying us presents now will be useless for the debt you all are putting on us in our future. And besides YOU GUYS are the ones that created a lot of if not all of the debt that got us into this recession in the first place so why do you guys get to buy everything you want to now, while raising the national debt, and make us and future generations have to cut back on everything, make life terrible(unless your filthy rich), and make us pay off YOUR PROBLEM.

Any opinions?

I was talking to someone the other day, we were discussing kids beauty pageants and it seems that a lot of people are with it and don't see anything wrong with it, when am sure that they've heard stories about child abuse, rape,murders..etc etc , we all heard of Job Benet, yet they still can't see the danger they re putting their kids through.

I personally think its is 100% wrong, the kids are baked with make up, wigs, fake teeth and eye lashes, they basically look like creepy dolls or 30 year old women.

its like they are raising their kids to be superficial and they re actually promoting sexuality..

So I just wanna know, what do you guys think...
