I’ve always been confused what career I’ve wanted. I’m not the most confident person but I hide it well. So I’m constantly doubting myself when I’m starting something new. I’ve always wanted to be a makeup artist tho and I did start a course a few years ago but felt overwhelmed and dropped out. My mother always has something negative to say half of the time I don’t think she realizes how crappy she is being and the minute she says something it makes me feel like I can’t do it.

I told her I’m going back to do makeup. And she turned around and said I thought you were finished with all that you keep changing your mind. I said maybe if you would encourage once in a while I could do it. She got all offended and gets upset so you have to say sorry. My parents never pushed us when we where younger no encouragement to go to college or what career you wanted. I know I can’t blame them cause I’m a adult and I have to take responsibility. I’m in a good place at the moment and I really think I could have the career I want ☹️ It just upsets me cause my mother is like my best friend, I know her own mother was a very unemotional person so maybe she got it from her. Do you have family members like this?

I'm a recent college grad, and this entire time, I've been only applying to places in state. But now I'm starting to apply to places far away like California and New York. Did you do this when you were looking for something new? Especially if you were recently out of college!
