You're in a relationship with someone (doesn't matter if it's a male or female). They start talking to other people that are interested in them via phone or social media while in a relationship with you. They're doing it because they feel they're going to break up with you soon, so they're creating a sort of "cushion". Instead of breaking it off before doing all of this, they string you along until their feelings for you are completely gone, acting like nothing has changed. Shortly after the breakup (a week maybe), they're in a relationship with one of those people they were talking to.
