For example, pursuing a certain career because it went against your controlling parents' wishes (or because everybody said you weren't good enough), or cutting contact with a friend who abandoned you in a time of need, because you want them to feel what it's like to be abandoned.

Doing something out of love is, in many ways, the opposite of that: it means you're doing it with the intention of helping or pleasing somebody—it’s done out of care, which is usually there because you want the object of your affection in your life.

Likewise, this doesn’t necessarily have to be a “good” thing. For example, deliberately hurting someone else for your loved one’s benefit (e. g., throwing someone under the bus at work, so your girlfriend can get the promotion), or staying in a bad relationship because breaking up would hurt your children.


So, which one do you think is stronger?

We got into a fight and I was being crazy ( we are friends with benefits but a little bit more than that ) he said he doesn’t wanna talk to me sometimes because I act psycho sometimes I apologized and said I was sorry and then I said I’d leave him alone. Then a day went by and I thought w weren’t gonna talk but then he called me asked to hang out then I declined. I then texted him next day sayin I thought u didn’t want to talk to me and he said only when I act crazy he doesn’t. So I asked if I could call him me explain and he said yes but on phone he sounded annoyed a little so I was by we then made plans to hang out the next day. The next day came me I asked what he was doing and he never answered. So I usually would blow his phone up but I just left him alone. ? What ups? I know I was bad an I really regret it because I secretly like him. Why even call me after I tell say I’m Not gonna talk to him?

We are friends with benefits kinda with a little bit more and it seems like I’m chasing after him which he obviously likes but it’s annoying and he had this attitude like he doesn’t give af. Well we got into a fight and it was petty of me but things were said and he was threatening not to talk to me anymore because I was acting crazy which is all the time tbh lmfao so I said sorry I feel bad for being like this and that I’ve had the worst attitude with him because I recently just broke up with my ex so it’s like I’m acting extra crazy on purpose with him because I know he doesn’t want to stick around so I thought this was the final stray so I apologized and said I’m sorry for my behavior and I’ll leave him alone for good and just wanted to say sorry. He never answered me so I thought we were done until a day later he calls me on the phone asking me to bring my friend to hang out with him and his friend. I said no I’m busy and he said it’s okay and that he would text me later ( which he never did?) even after he said he’d stop talking to me he called me... so what gives? Should I wait for him to talk to me again cause I’m done chasing?
