When discussion comes up about paying for a first date women use the excuse of spending money on makeup and outfits and their hair as why men should be forced to pay for them on a date. But then women also say men need to stop thinking girls do all these beauty things for men.

So which is it?

This is a quick poll I wanted to ask.
Suppose you are given the choice between two people, which would you rather date? Please be honest.
It is simply really. You just look at them, you have a choice, A or B, and after you choose, you go on a few dates, and after that you get together, have sex, long term relationship, etc, however far it progresses naturally.
So:
For girls:
A) An insanely hot, well off, popular guy who you are physically attracted to, he is your type and all - but he is the polar opposite of what you are looking for a man in terms of personality.
B) A man who perfectly matches the personality you are looking for, but is broke or has a badly paying job, and is unattractive to you completely. Just imagine the ugliest man you can.

For guys:
A) A girl who is insanely attractive, just your type, you go crazy for her - but she is again, the complete opposite of what you were looking for in terms of personality.
B) A girl that is horribly ugly, in the worst ways you can imagine, but she is really interesting, and matches the personality you were looking for in any girl out there.

So, which one of these would you choose?

She’s 22 and lives with her aunt. I’m 25 and will be moving about an hour and a half away in two weeks to move back in with my parents. She’s got debt, I Don’t. We both have degrees. I’m moving so I can turn my previous two low paying jobs into hopefully one higher paying job with benefits while saving as much as possible. She’s currently working two jobs. So in short we’re trying hard right now. However, we haven’t started dating. It’s been mostly just hanging out in group settings but I know the only thing stopping us from being together is me. She’s made it more than clear that she wants this and is willing to wait. We’re both in this state of trying to be as honest as possible because we’re both tired of empty flings and things just keep progressing each time we see each other (which I’m pretty sure she’s been asking my best friend to set up opportunities for us since I tend to avoid relationships). She seems like a great decision for me in the long term but the timing is horrible right now. Should I date her?

I had a date with a girl I met at the gym (I'm not a gym freak, I go about 4 times a month) and after we ate on the first date I was going to pay but she said that she was the one who asked me out so she should pay but I declined because I've never had a girl pay for me on a date and it felt weird (may be an ego thing, I really don't know).
So what are your opinions on guys paying on the first date.
