Complicated background but here goes: I like this girl and rejected too many times so I broke off the friendship for a bit. The most recent reason for breaking it off was because I heard on v-day she asked a mutual friend of ours to be her valentine, and he accepted, and he likes her and even has plans for her(she doesn't know of course). And they're going to prom together, but everyone else sees them as really good friends and I'm sure she does as well.

Anyway because of that valentine day thing above and me breaking it off, I eventually restablished friendship(because rejection isint permenant, we all know that) so I casually asked her if she liked that other guy. it was 10:30 at night and she didn't text back, the next day she texts back about something off topic, so she avoided the question sorta

Should I still casually ask if she likes him, as a guy who still likes her? Or should I not care and not make her uncomfortable? We're both 18 btw

So I met this girl two weeks ago or so. I called her two days after I got her number and she answered but it was a terribly awkward conversation. At the end, she said she might be free on Thursday to go out and she said she'd "let me know.". Well, I texted her on that Thursday late in the day just asking if she'd be free and she never responded. Then a few days later (this Monday) I just said f*** it and called her again even though I thought she wasn't interested. No answer. Left a voice mail but she didn't respond. Fast forward to yesterday (Valentines day). I randomly see her waiting for a bus we both had to take. I just walked up and said hey how's it going. She instantly said how she's sorry for not responding to the voice mail...that she's been super busy. But that she doesn't have any plans that night. Kinda seemed she was opening the door to ask her out so I said we should grab some dinner. She initially seemed good a out it but mentioned how it might be weird since its Valentine's day. Well, we talked for about 5 min on the bus and right before my stop I told her she should text me after her volunteering. She replied that I should text her instead after I get done hanging out with my friend.

So I text her a couple hours later. She responds positively. I then asked if dinner still sounds good and she said something like "My parents want me home tonight, sorry. " WTF? I then say how she should just come out and that it'd be fun and in the same text asked if she lives super close to campus. She responded only answering the question and nothing about how it'd be fun hanging out.

So what the hell could be going on? When I first met her randomly on campus two weeks ago we had a great convo. Then things went downhill for a bit until I saw her on campus.why would she apologize for not responding to the voice mail, tell me she's free that night, and then tell me to text her? Is she jntersted but just felt weird because Valentine's day is for couples? Or why would she flake like that? Based on what I said, is she likely interested or not?
