He explains women are more likely to cheat for emotional satisfaction. “Online cheating—without any physical contact—is the most damaging type of infidelity,” says Orlando. Becoming emotionally invested in another person means you’ve likely checked out of your marriage. But if it’s just sex, it’s less about attachment and more about a hurtful mistake. What do you think about this statement? Is it possible a woman sexting, or emotionally having some form relationship with a man, even if sex is not involved?

Technically it was not cheating. She asked to take a break in December. She said she still loved me, but that our relationship had gotten "too comfortable" and "lacked romance" and that she was hurt by me dragging my feet with regards to marriage. While all that was true, she left out one very important fact: She had met somebody who had made her feel "confused" about how she felt about me. They saw each other for about a month before I found out.

Yes, "technically" we were not seeing each other at the time. But still, the lies and emotional infidelity crush me equally the same. My heart is still broken and the trust has vanished. She claims they did not have sex or become involved physically in any serious way (although, I am not sure that even matters).

Part of me loves her deeply. The other part of me hates her passionately for inflicting so much pain and throwing away our future.

My question is: Have any of you been in relationships that have been "fixed" after something like this? Is it even worth it to try?

I still believe there is something worth fixing: We are the best of friends and have so much fun together. We share the same faith, values, and political views. We want the same things in life. We adore each others' families. Our interests compliment each others'. We take wonderful trips together. We are physically compatible.

But the sweetness and innocence that drew me to her in the first place has vanished into thin air. I'm not sure when, if ever, I can look at her in the same way.

She admits it was a horrible mistake and is not going to see him. We are planning on doing "no contact" for about a month. After that, we plan to meet and re-evaluate. It was the only thing I could think of. I have no experience dealing with this and I am not sure how to proceed.
