Search Results: fixing a broken relationship

So this guy and I have been friends for a bit over a year. We met through a mutual friend and I was in a new relationship at the time.

At first it was stuff that I didn’t really notice. He’d tell me to break up with him and that long distance never works. And throughout that year everyone would think he’s my boyfriend to the point that we didn’t even bother fixing it cause it happened so much.
(We just have so much in common even style, that it’s like talking to a male version of myself. I have never gotten along with anybody like that)
Fast forward through the year, my then boyfriend broke up with me, I was at a really shitty place mentally and emotionally that I broke down at work, I called him and he was there in less than an hour.

Ever since he’s been bringing me lunch to work randomly, never lets me pay when we go out, he’s been more open with me, he’s making plans that just involves the both of us without our friends.
I saw him after traveling over the summer and he got extremely close and started fixing my hair while we were looking at each other’s eyes. He didn’t snap out of it till our mutual friend called his name..

All that time I just thought he was being nice mostly because my ex made sure I knew I wasn’t worthy of love and that I’m a waste of time. But now I’m starting to have my doubts.

Our mutual friend yesterday told me that she thinks we’ll end up as more than friends. It shocked me that it came from someone that knew us too.. what do you think?
